Oksana Makar, an 18-year-old girl who was raised in Mykolaiv, southern Ukraine — in a male-dominated society, was living her usual life on the night of 8th March 2012. She was invited by two of her friends to their pal’s house — normal fun, a casual day in the life of every teenage girl who likes to enjoy gatherings with her friends. It was supposed to be a good time — she probably picked out her best clothes and left something in her fridge to eat when she came back home.
She never came back.
The gathering which looked like any other fun time in her mind became the end of Oksana Makar.
According to reports, Makar met her two so-called friends and attackers, a 22-year-old Artem and a 23-year-old Yevhen, at the Rybka bar in Mykolaiv on 8th March. After drinking there, one of the young men convinced her to come to the apartment of his 24-year-old friend, Maksym.
Things changed as Oksana dragged her feet towards that apartment — where she was tortured. This 18-year-old girl was raped by three men — but it didn’t stop there. The assaulters had something much more evil hidden under their human skin…
